Picking up where you left off.

Most golfers can't live at the driving range all the time, or at the course, they have proper lives with families. That means that when they finally get their clubs in their hands they can't remember what it was they were doing last time, or indeed why they were hitting the ball so good (or so poorly).

I'd like to share an excerpt written by Charlie Wi from the Stack and Tilt book...

Quote:
"At first when I tried it, I felt like I was going eight inches in fron tof the ball. But I could see the difference in my ball-striking right away. Before that, I never really knew what was going on at impact, so understanding the cause and effect was huge.

I started playing with Stack & Tilt right away, and three weeks after that first session at Hartford, I shot 65 at the 84 Lumber Classic and led after the first day. I finally knew where the ball was going. And when it didn't go where I wanted it to, I knew why.

With my old swing, if I took a week off and didn't hit balls, I felt like I was starting over when I came back. Now I can take time off and pick up where I left off, becasue i know what my priorities are. I hit the ball a lot straighter, but even more important, I get what's happening in my swing."

I have found in my own game that I can really relate to this.

I don't have all the 1000's of swing thoughts going on in my head that I used to. I know where I want to be at the top of my backswing, how I want to feel through the ball and where I want to be at the finish. Finding the correct yardage has become more important!

Sure I need to keep working on my swing, perhaps some days my timing will be slightly off and I may play worse than the week before but I don't need to go looking for the magic fix that will build a further 20 compensations into my swing and leave me crossing my fingers every time I stand over the ball.
