Played yesterday. Lovely day for golf, sun was shining, hardly a breathe of wind. Really felt up for it. Swinging like an absolute knob and hitting the ball badly. No conviction in my shots at all but still managed to amass 34 points. If it hadn't been for a silly cock up on the 2nd hole I would have played to my handicap. Sunk one silly putt that had no right to go in, didn't really chip well and had the odd three putt with a four putt thrown in for good measure, so it wasn't as if my short game bailed me out.
Yet other times I have gone out, felt I've been swinging well and have been hitting "proper shots" (for me anyway) chipped and putted well...and still only scored 28 points or so.
Why does golf do that????

The same reason I played crap and then birdied 2 of the last 3 holes... it makes you think you have more in the tank. One day everything will hook up for just the one round, you'll shoot level par and have thoughts about turning pro! :)

NB: Between us we shot +3 on Sunday.... not bad.
